The death of a 21 year-old man in a single vehicle road accident outside Dunshaughlin on Tuesday morning has plunged the Polish community in Navan into mourning.
Gardaí in Dunshaughlin are investigating the collision, which occurred on the R147 Dunshaughlin-Dublin Road, near the Esso filling station, at approximately 12.30am on Tuesday morning.
The 21 year-old driver of a car, who has been named locally as Krystian Marcinievicz of Oakleigh, Navan, was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a ditch.
Five other people, three males and two females, were in the car but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Fr Janusz Lougowski, chaplain to the Polish community in Meath, said Polish people living locally were deeply saddened by the tragedy and were praying for the dead man’s family.
