Tree destruction in Dunshaughlin park

The destruction of 15 trees in Dunshaughlin’s public park has been described as “wanton vandalism which is soul destroying for the local Tidy Towns organisation”.
Local public representative, Cllr Gerry O’Connor, said that the damage to the trees, which were recently replanted during National Tree Week, was very disheartening to both the Tidy Towns group and the council, who worked hand in hand in maintaining the park.
The trees had only been replanted recently to replace ones which had been previously damaged shortly after the park opened in 2006.
